MIA....

Well peeps, I am sorry I have been missing in action, there has been a bit going on in my life and I shall provide a quick summary and try to get back to my 3 times a week postings here.

1) My sister came to stay with me for the summer.  I now know that while we may have shared a house when we were young, it's not the best idea for us to share space over the long term. I think it would have been better if we had our own rooms or my sister wasn't 20 going on 14 (the drama I just can't take). But she leaves in a little under a month (she has spent May, June, July and then Aug with me), so my stress level should ratchet down here shortly!

2) I moved!  Not from dc but across town. I now live in a lovely 2/2 (which will be better once there is only me and my roommate, see above) with an awesome roommate, though her cat (Bumblebeetuna, yes all one word) and my pup (Toby the Dachshund) are still sorting out how they like one another.  Toby thinks its play time, and the BBT just hisses, its all very passive aggressive at this point and entirely entertaining.  Also, my new place is directly across from the metro and super quick to any of the places I frequent.  Did I mention it has a pool, grills, a gym and a rec room?  Oh and its cheaper than what I was paying at the other place.

3) Along with the moving, I have gotten new furniture, but I am waiting to decorate the bed room until my sister moves out....   I shall be posting Pics once its all completed  :)

4) Work is frustrating... they are converting the contractor jobs (which is the job I hold) to permanent GS positions... On the one hand I am glad for the program that it is getting permanent funding, on the other, I am sad that my job is going away. I am eligible to apply for the job that I am sitting in however, I don't think I meet all the qualifications (which is dumb because Ii have been doing the Job for over a year.)

5) I have also been doing outdoorsy things like playing softball, hanging by my pool (!), and hashing, my running group (I have been named but it is not something to post in polite company as is many of the names at the hash).  I signed up with a group of my friends to do a 200 mi relay, if you know anyone in the DC area who has a 12-15 passenger van they are not using in late September, let me know.

That is the quick and dirty.

PS.... No, I am not seeing anyone, I went on a few dates with a man who tried to lick my skin off... ick!
