I went back and forth on the color scheme I wanted... I knew Ii wanted a grey base but it was between a mustard, lavender, orange and teal as the secondary color. I polled friends and family and this is what I came up with. I won't get to put the room together until my sister moves out (22 days and counting) but I have started collecting the pieces.
I have these night stands:
and I have this chest of drawers:
and I want this bed:
I have vintage movie posters that are going to go on the wall and I have my eye on a quilt at west elm that is the right color. I will take a before and after shot so you can see, have no fear.
On a side note, I may or may not have mentioned that I rowed in college (Division 1 athlete, thankyouverymuch!) and I was doing a little thrifting this weekend, I came across a vintage, and I mean VINTAGE erg (aka rowing machine) for $20 tucked back behind some mirrors at a salvage place: its freaking cool... mine looks like this but without the seat:
The cool thing is the one in the picture was listed for $250 talk about a score! I also got 2 brass wall sconces that have seashell type back ground that I am going to spray paint grey this weekend. This too will have photographs for the step by step procedures. I think I am going to put air plants in the candle holding part instead of candles, I think it will give it a funky vibe.
So pretending to decorate is on my mind these days, its keeping me from killing my sister.
