Happy New Year and OMG!

Well Helllo Blogging world. Its been like 8 weeks since we hung out. I blame the holidays and general laziness.

Speaking of laziness, my ass has grown. You think I am kidding, look at this picture from New Years:

and this is with SPANKS! Yes dear blogger friends, I have let myself go,  but No More!

Today, I stepped on the scale this am and I weigh a whopping 210. at 5'8" that means I am Obese.  I wear a size 16.

I have my goal. I would like to lose 30 lbs by my Birthday in May and then another 20 by Christmas which would put me at my lightest weight since high school and back into the normal range for my BMI.

What is motivating this business?  Well for starters, DC is a town where thin people get dates and I want dates. Dates that lead to LTR's that could possibly lead to the aisle (I have go the itch for the white dress and a church).

The second thing that is motivating this is my 10 year High school reunion is 2013. I need to look good by then because I was the new girl who didn't get too much attention and would love a little bit of stickin' it to the mean girls.

The third issue and probably the most important is that I am not Healthy, which is bad news all around.

Here's what my plan includes:

  1) I have signed up for 2 half marathons and plan on signing up for the marine corp again.  The first half is in march, the second half is in June and the marine corp is in October. Between those 3, I should have the motivation to work out, because if  I don't those races are going to HURT!

2) Eating close to the source. What does that mean? Well it means eating food that is minimally processed, i.e. fresh fruits, veggies, and lean meats.   Steamed Veggies with baked salmon= good.  Hot pockets=bad.

3) I will work out 6 days a week.  They don't all have to be super omg i am going to die work outs but it needs to happen.

4) I am cutting out soda. It cuts the bloat, sodium and helps my body maintain its iron and calcium levels better.

5) I am limiting alcohol consumption to 1 night a week.

6) I am kicking off the weight loss with 1 bottle of Alli to get things moving and to understand which meals  I have that are fattier than others.

That's it, its simple it works for me and I will post pics once a week to give you an idea of where I am at and my pitfalls.

Woo Woo 2012 is my year!

  1. Working on the same goals as you and that I have been for way too long... So if you are interested I have an incredible program that I'm following. I started in Sept. and admittedly haven't lost the weight i would like to but my body is changing in a GOOD way. I'm becoming stronger and more defined and if I could just get myself to eat a little better then I would lose that 20lbs that is hanging on so tight. The book is called The New Rules of Lifting for Women. here is a link to the web site http://www.thenewrulesoflifting.com/nrol-for-women Add this to your training and you'll see a difference!
